Find Your College and Get Your Credit

About Credit for Prior Learning

Do you already have work experience, military training, or industry certifications? At California Community Colleges, you can turn that into college credit, helping you graduate faster. Search for your college’s CPL Landing Page to request a credit review.

At California Community Colleges, adults like you can earn college credit for skills and expertise gained from:

  • Military service and training — Joint Services Transcripts (JST), Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcripts, and basic training
  • Industry certifications and professional licenses — from IT credentials to healthcare licenses to skilled trades
  • Apprenticeships and employer training — registered apprenticeships and structured on-the-job learning
  • AP, IB, and CLEP exam scores — standardized tests you’ve already passed
  • Work experience — demonstrated skills from your career
  • Volunteer and civic service — Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and similar programs

Note: You will need your college student ID number or CCCApply ID number to submit your request. If you don't have one, you'll be prompted to get one before proceeding.
